🤬 off Stanley, a new white bitch is in town. And it has a pretty decent background actor somewhere in the frame. Owala creates insulated water bottles with a lid, and straw that's so good, that you'll rip out your grandma's life support to get a sip. I was an extra for an ad with my wife for Owala. But I was cut out of the frame. Honestly, I'm not even sad. I've been on many film and TV production sets but as a visitor. My wife and I applied for this production, they liked my face or something, and it was a ton of fun.

One day, while biking to work, I was listening to the opening keynote of the Figma Convention (Config) and was struck by the creative use of shapes to spell out "Config." This inspired me to experiment and create an entire alphabet using the Figma logo. I found the process fun and thought-provoking and wanted to share my creation with others.
SEO so good, I overtook Cotopaxi's own website when searching for Questival. Questival is a 24-hour adventure challenge and competition event organized by Cotopaxi, the socially responsible outdoor gear and apparel company that is committed to alleviating poverty and promoting education worldwide. The Questival app had issues with crashing and a lack of user engagement and navigation. The team improved the user engagement and navigation on the Questival website by redesigning it and creating a low-code web-app. The redesign includes features like a new navigation bar, a team dashboard, a challenge feed, and a progress tracking system, which led to an increase in user retention and participation. The redesign process was done using a user-centered design process, which combined user research, data analysis, A/B testing, and design iteration using Figma. With this, it was possible to provide a more personalized experience for the users by creating user personas and tailoring the design solutions to their needs.
In my role at Accounting Analytics, I led the revitalization of the National Association of Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) website, overcoming challenges related to outdated technology and disorganized layout. Despite facing difficulties in aligning the client's vision with data-driven, user-centric solutions, this project served as a potent reminder of the importance of advocating for the best user experience. I developed an efficient Learning Management System (LMS) using tools like Wized, Xano, Webflow, Airtable, Typeform, and Make, aimed at fostering an integrated community and support system. The redesigned portal, powered by the Wized 2.0 platform, now offers users a seamless experience, including easy access to exam results, virtual certificates, freelance job opportunities, and discounted courses.
I created a comprehensive set of icons to help explain accounting terms, using design principles and inspiration from sources such as Behance and Dribbble, while using Material Icons as a primary source of inspiration. The icons are designed to be consistent and optimized for display at small sizes such as 24x24. The icon pack continues to grow and be regularly updated, with a focus on maintaining a consistent design style and making them optimized for display at small sizes. The icon pack is named after a non-traditional name that captures the essence of Utah and a friendly approachable tone. The icon pack is available on Figma.
Accounting Analytics, a new company launched by the National Association of Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) required a modern website that was easy to maintain, with eCommerce, login portals, and forms. The website was intended to reflect the company's identity as an accounting firm and school based in Utah. We used Webflow to build the website because it offered the most relevant features and easy scalability. The website-building platform was chosen after evaluating the options, as it was deemed the best solution for the company's needs.
A banking app for smartwatches is a convenient and secure solution that addresses the gap in the market of banking transactions on smartwatches. A proposed solution, a banking app for the Apple Watch, would allow users to check their account balances, transfer funds, and perform other banking transactions using their smartwatches. It would bring several benefits to both consumers, by providing a more convenient and secure way to access and manage their banking information, and for the company by expanding usage of banking services on smartwatches, increasing engagement and retention, and attracting new customers. The project would also provide valuable experience and skill development for the proposer.
Aligning customer service tools with a company's new branding is essential for maintaining good relationships with customers. A case study of Varo Bank highlights the importance of design in improving customer service tools functionality and user experience. A proposal of alternate designs was shared with the design team, but due to limitations, it was not fully implemented. Still, some of the suggestions were incorporated into the customer service tools, but the specific impact on the customer experience is not available.
This UX design case study illustrates the problem of overly-engineered smart home apps that are slow and difficult to use. A proposed solution was to redesign the mobile app's user interface to create a simple and easy-to-use app with added features, but it never got implemented, the project highlights the importance of simplifying design, proper communication and humility in the design process.
Our custom Disney shirts weren't gonna arrive in time for our Disneyland trip... Yes... my in-laws are "those people..." Because of this, my mother-in-law purchased a vinyl-cutting machine. Then started selling stuff to lots of people.
